June 2018: Gate Safe, the pioneering charity set up to improve awareness of the safety requirements for automated gates, has expanded its team and appointed Rob Williams as Technical and Training Advisor.
Rob has worked in the gate automation sector for 15 years and brings extensive industry knowledge to the role. His last position as an Automation Workshop Supervisor required him to train engineers on specific automated gate products; oversee new product development for the company and manage a Technical Support line.
The Technical and Training Advisor position will see Rob reporting directly to Gate Safe founder Richard Jackson, with a primary focus on the delivery of Gate Safe’s IOSH approved training course in the South / South East of England. In addition to training, Rob will also undertake independent risk assessment site surveys; deliver CPD seminars; provide technical support the Gate Safe Aware Installer community and assist in the general day to day operations of Gate Safe.
Commenting on the move to Gate Safe, Rob says, “I’ve been a long-term supporter of Gate Safe since its inception and have first-hand knowledge of just how much damage an unsafe gate can inflict. I relish this new challenge which provides an opportunity to combine my technical training background and practical experience of working in the field with a personal desire to play an active part in helping to put a stop to any further automated or manual gate related accidents or fatalities occurring. I’m looking forward to expanding on the excellent work that Richard and his team have already put in place and to maintaining Gate Safe’s position as the go-to hub for all training, guidance and expert advice pertaining to automated gate installations.
